Bird Island Park

Explore, Relax, and Learn

Bird Island Park is an innovative, passive-use park designed to be enjoyed by all generations. Located next to the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch—It offers ample opportunities for small group gatherings, theatre events, children’s programming, picnicking, bird watching, strolling, and relaxation. Designed by Bobby Weed, the park illustrates the ecosystems of northeast Florida and highlights native flora and fauna. The landscape includes dune and wetland areas, educational signage, and interactive art sculptures.

When visiting, you can help minimize environmental impacts by being a “Sustainable PVB Guest” — keep these recommendations in mind.

Experience the Park:
Bird Island Park features an entrance gazebo, followed by a winding trail that leads guests past water features and examples of native hammock. Visitors will enjoy a hedged sea turtle maze with four beautifully crafted benches in the center. The park also includes a storytelling area with benches and a small stage, with a labyrinth center shaded by trees.

A boardwalk surrounds the pond with Bird Island in the center, and there is a second gazebo on the waterfront, a play area for children, and a handicap-accessible sidewalk that winds around the entire park. A plethora of birdhouses keeps winged animals and birders happy.

The park was dedicated and officially opened on October 15, 2010.
