✓ Trail Access & Planning
For easiest access, park at the west end of the Guana Dam, past the pay station, near the Trailhead Pavilion. Check the trail map at the Pavilion to choose the hike that’s right for you.
✓ Timing Matters
Start your hike before 11 a.m. when wildlife is most active and the trails are cooler and easier to navigate.
✓ Respect the Environment
Stay on designated paths to protect sensitive plants and wildlife. Keep the “natural” in “natural areas” by packing out what you pack in.
✓ Stay Hydrated & Prepared
Bring your own water bottle and fill it before coming out to stay hydrated along the trail.
✓ Learn & Support
Stop by the Environmental Education Center before or after your hike to learn about these unique ecosystems and support the important work of the GTM Research Reserve.
