Bird Island Park
A Serene Escape
Bird Island is a quiet park perfect for a slow, contemplative stroll amid northeast Florida’s native ecosystems. Level paths and a boardwalk around the pond make gentle exercise easy, while benches, gazebos, and a playful hedged sea turtle maze provide spots to pause and reflect.
Next door, the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library offers inspiration for your visit, with shelves to browse and books to deepen your contemplative state. Wildlife is abundant — turtles in the water and birds in the trees — and educational markers highlight the park’s native vegetation.
Located just off A1A with ample parking, Bird Island Park is an accessible spot for a mindful escape.

Experience the Park:
Bird Island Park features an entrance gazebo, followed by a winding trail that leads guests past water features and examples of native hammock. Visitors will enjoy a hedged sea turtle maze with four beautifully crafted benches in the center. The park also includes a storytelling area with benches and a small stage, with a labyrinth center shaded by trees.
A boardwalk surrounds the pond with Bird Island in the center, and there is a second gazebo on the waterfront, a play area for children, and a handicap-accessible sidewalk that winds around the entire park. A plethora of birdhouses keeps winged animals and birders happy.
The park was dedicated and officially opened on October 15, 2010.
