A Journey Through Old Florida
The Nocatee Preserve is a 2,400-acre conservation area dedicated to keeping these beautiful lands in their natural state for years to come.
The 3.5-mile trail is an “out and back” path, so plan for a 7-mile experience if you go the full distance. It’s multi-use, so you may encounter other hikers, mountain bikers, or horseback riders along the way. The trail is relatively flat, making it a great hike for all skill levels. Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a leash.
The trailhead is located near Ponte Vedra High School and offers easy parking and restrooms. While the trail begins under a lovely tree canopy, it opens up as you progress, so be sure to wear a hat for sun protection.
The Preserve is home to a variety of wildlife, including wild hogs, deer, turkeys, snakes, and more, so stay alert. Insects can also be abundant, especially in the summer months, so bring plenty of repellent.
