Fishing on Guana Lake
Some fishing enthusiasts prefer a small craft over a large boat. Try kayaking on Guana Lake for a more connected and immersive experience.
Guana River Wildlife Management Area
Calm Waters, Big Catches
Fishing can be a relaxing, quiet experience, and what better way to enjoy it than by slowly paddling across Guana Lake in a kayak? The lake is large and generally shallow, providing calm waters that are ideal for most anglers.
The lake is located at the north end of the Guana River Wildlife Management Area, just west of Mickler’s Landing. You can park at the North Guana Outpost, which provides kayaks and other equipment for a full fishing experience.
Launching depends on water levels, which can vary, so check in advance to ensure conditions are suitable.
For a unique adventure, experience a natural light show created by bioluminescent sea creatures. These after-hours trips are available by reservation at North Guana Outpost (4415 Mickler Road, Ponte Vedra Beach, or call 904-373-0306). Tours launch nightly from the north boat ramp on Guana Dam and are offered year-round.
