A Must-See for Visitors and Birders
Part of the GTM Research Reserve, this overlook grants spectacular views reminiscent of those seen by Ponce de Leon in 1513. Begin your journey in the North Beach Parking Lot. Take in the 15-foot statue of Ponce de Leon and follow his gaze across A1A to climb to the overlook. Soaring views await.

As the trails allow for multiple uses, keep your eyes out for hikers, horseback riders, and other users.

Have a relaxing picnic at the adjoining Davis Park before or after your ride.

Make sure to bring bug spray — given the proximity to waterways, insects can be present for much of the ride, particularly in the summer months.

The trail is a great way to experience a Florida “Cypress Swamp” for the first part of the ride. Make sure to wear your helmet and stay alert as you approach other recreational users.

Apply SPF-30 sunblock that is made in Florida, biodegradable, and nontoxic to marine life.
✓ Leave No Trace
Leave nothing but memories — trash receptacles are located at the trailhead and at Nocatee Landing Paddle Launch Park.
✓ Stay on the Trail
Remain on the established trails to minimize impacts on other sensitive lands.
